Quality Electronic Manufacturing Services, Inc. (QEMS) was recognized in 2012 as a World Class Supplier by Scott Safety. This was the company’s third time winning the award. The recognition is given to only the top 1% of Scott Safety’s suppliers around the world.
“On an annual basis we evaluate our top dollar-spend suppliers and rate their performance in quality, on-time delivery, cost, and customer service, “ Valerie R. Raye, senior buyer at SCOTT Safety’s Strategic Sourcing Department, said in a statement. “QEMS’s receipt of World Class Supplier for three consecutive years is truly unique and is a testament to their dedication to continuous improvement.”
QEMS was founded in Monroe in 2002 by Phuong Nguyen, who originally immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in the early 1980s. Having started his engineering education in Vietnam, Nguyen secured a position with Siemens where he worked full-time while completing his engineering degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After 15 years with Siemens, he struck out on his own to form QEMS.
